"ENABLE: European Network Against Bullying in Learning and Leisure Environments"

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

"ENABLE: European Network Against Bullying in Learning and Leisure Environments"

It is a project supported by four European secondary schools, born from the report made by educational bodies on the school climate, published in 2017, indicating that the school climate deteriorates over the course of schooling. The partner schools:

• Collège Antoine Delafont in Montmoreau (France)

• Agrupamento de Escolas, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso (Portugal)

• Istituto Comprensivo Marco Polo, Viani (Italy)

• Zakladni skola T. G. Masaryka, Kutna Hora, (Czech Republic)

We have chosen to engage in the fight against and prevention of school bullying because it is a real scourge, that is damaging the school climate we have all faced in our schools. The establishment of this partnership promotes an exchange of practices between teachers. It will create common pedagogical and didactic tools and work to optimize resources, skills and experiences. Using the eTwinning site will facilitate those exchanges.

The project is part of these objectives, by setting up motivating and rewarding activities to fight against school bullying. During the first year, the creation of a survey about the situation in each country, the edition of a dictionary gathering and defining terms related to harassment, role plays for students staging situations of harassment and the resulting reactions, the production of various media (songs, comics, board games , videos) are all tools that will allow each student to explore their creative potential and find their place in the project. During the 2nd year, a group of peer supporters with their experience gained during the first year, will be set up and will aim to get directly involved in the resolution of conflict situations within its institution but more broadly within the European network "European Network Against Bullying".

This project will bring together 108 students from 11 to 14 years old. This project is a way to give meaning to learning by allowing the meeting, the exchange of know-how, and social skills. It will foster students' cultural openness and facilitate their engagement in common reflection and action going beyond geographical and socio-cultural boundaries and will enable them to grow up and become "world citizens".

This project is organized around several actions and 4 meetings:

-ACTION 1 => networking: collaboration, exchange of ideas, work meetings, coordination with teachers via video-conference (TwinSpace), and creation of a code of good conduct on the internet by students.

-ACTION 2 => State of play by students: creation of a common questionnaire to survey their friends about the school climate (insults, fights, arguments ...); implementation of this questionnaire, analysis, presentation and comparison of the results of this survey
